How we work
A process built on outcomes, not big reveals
Every engagement is transparent and defined by what you actually receive at each phase. Senior people work your project start to finish, strategy comes before pixels, and we measure against real business goals from day one.
Start a project →How we work
Six commitments that shape every project
A process is only as good as the standards behind it. These are the principles the best product teams share, translated to a boutique partner who stays close to your business.
Senior people, start to finish
The team that begins your project finishes it. No pitch-and-switch, no hand-off to junior staff after the contract is signed.
Deliverables, not decks
You can judge a process by what you receive at each phase. Ours is defined that way — real artifacts you can use, not one-off presentations.
Strategy before pixels
Every creative decision traces back to a business objective set up front. No vanity metrics, no design for design's sake.
Technology from day one
Development starts at kickoff, not after design is approved, so architecture and design never drift apart.
Built to be found
SEO and GEO are designed in, not bolted on, so you show up in search results and inside AI answers alike.
Measured from the start
We define the KPIs in week one and report against them. Most of a project's value shows up in the months after launch.
The methodology
Six phases, each with named deliverables
Discovery & Alignment
Week 1–2We start with your business, not your brand. In a working session with the people who own the outcomes, we map goals, audiences, constraints, and what success actually looks like — then rank priorities so the whole project has a north star.
What you get
- Ranked business goals and success metrics
- Audience and buyer definitions
- A measurement plan and analytics requirements
- A written brief everyone signs off on
What we need from you
- Access to decision-makers and outcome owners
- An honest picture of what has and hasn't worked
Research & Competitive Analysis
Week 2–3We study your market — competitors, category conventions, and the gaps no one is filling. We look at how buyers search, including how AI answer engines describe your space, so we design for where attention is going, not just where it has been.
What you get
- Competitive and category scan (structure and messaging)
- Keyword and search-intent mapping for SEO and GEO
- A positioning opportunity map
What we need from you
- Your real view of who you compete with
- Sales insight on why deals are won or lost
Strategy & Architecture
Week 3–4Strategy becomes structure. We turn goals into a sitemap, define what each page is responsible for, and map the paths a visitor takes to act. Structure is a conversion tool — most confusing sites fail here, not in the visuals.
What you get
- Site architecture and sitemap
- Page-intent definitions
- A content plan mapping what each page must say and prove
- A strategy brief tying initiatives to business objectives
What we need from you
- Timely feedback at decision points
- Source material we flag: decks, product sheets, existing content
Design & Creative
Week 4–7With strategy locked, we design the system — brand expression, templates, and components — mobile and desktop together. You see real work early and often, not a single big reveal at the end.
What you get
- A design system: grid, type, color, components
- Designed core templates with responsive behavior
- Interaction and edge-case states
- Launch creative: identity, content, campaign assets as scoped
What we need from you
- Consolidated feedback from your decision-makers
- Content or approvals on the shared schedule
Build & Launch
Week 7–11Development that began at kickoff now carries the design to production, so architecture and design stay in sync. We build for performance and accessibility as standards, then test, QA, and ship in a controlled release — launch day should be calm, not stressful.
What you get
- A fast, accessible, maintainable build (Core Web Vitals, WCAG 2.2 AA)
- CMS setup and team training
- A launch checklist: redirects, analytics, forms, cross-device QA
- A smooth, monitored go-live
What we need from you
- Final content and approvals
- Access to your domain, analytics, and connected systems
Measure & Optimize
OngoingLaunch is the start line. We track performance against the KPIs set in discovery, report honestly, and keep improving. Governance keeps the site coherent as it grows and content changes.
What you get
- Analytics and conversion tracking, validated
- A regular reporting rhythm in plain language
- A prioritized backlog from real usage data
- A governance plan for publishing and upkeep
What we need from you
- A shared definition of success
- Room to act on what the data shows
A typical engagement
What the schedule looks like
Most full site builds run eight to twelve weeks, with phases deliberately overlapping. Smaller scopes move faster. We set the real dates together in discovery — and if the timeline is tight, the one step we won't skip is goal alignment, because that is what keeps feedback objective and revisions finite.
Non-negotiables
Standards baked in, not bolted on
Performance
Core Web Vitals targets on every key template. Speed is a conversion decision, especially on mobile, so we manage page weight and scripts from the first build.
Accessibility
WCAG 2.2 AA as a baseline. Keyboard navigation, semantic structure, contrast, and accessible components are part of the build, not a finishing task.
Findability
Optimized for search engines and generative engines. We structure content so you are both rankable in search and citable inside AI answers.
Common questions
What clients ask before we start
How long does a project take?
Most full site builds run eight to twelve weeks; focused scopes are faster. Timelines depend on decision speed and content readiness more than anything else, which is why we set real dates together in discovery.
Do we really need the research and discovery phase?
Discovery is where the project becomes accountable. Skipping it is where most redesigns go wrong: feedback turns subjective, revisions never end, and the site becomes a collection of opinions. We can scale discovery to your budget, but we won't skip goal alignment.
Will we see work early, or wait for a big reveal?
Early and often. Expect fewer presentations and more real work — designed templates and working prototypes you can react to, not a single dramatic unveiling at the end.
What is GEO, and why is it part of your process?
GEO is Generative Engine Optimization — making sure your brand is accurately represented and cited inside AI answers from tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI overviews. We design content and structure so you are citable there, not only rankable in traditional search.
What happens after launch?
We measure against the KPIs set in discovery, report on a regular cadence in plain language, and work a prioritized backlog from real usage data. A governance plan keeps the site coherent as your content and team change.
